Kron Bridge

It is more easily accepted by the patient than removable prostheses, but a number of conditions must be present for its application. The procedure is completed in 3-4 sessions and 1 week after the teeth are prepared and impressions are taken.

There are metal-supported ceramic (porcelain), metal-free ceramic (porcelain), porcelain laminate types of prosthesis.

The most suitable one for your mouth will be determined by your physician. Fixed Prostheses
In the classical and current methods of fixed prostheses, the durability of metals as the infrastructure and the aesthetics of ceramics as the superstructure have been utilized while creating the prosthesis. Although this method is still in use, fixed prosthesis applications that can mimic the natural appearance with many different materials have now been added to clinical solutions with the developing technology in order to respond to increasing aesthetic needs. Which teeth are crowns made on?
Teeth with excessive loss of material due to decay or other reasons,
Discolored teeth whose color cannot be reversed,
Teeth with deformity,
teeth with poor root canal treatment (to prevent teeth from breaking),
On implants

Bridge: In the absence of one or more teeth, it is the process of filling the gaps by reducing the neighboring teeth and getting support from special veneers.

As with veneers, the teeth to be taken as support by your dentist are shaped and the same procedures are performed.

What happens if dentures are not made to replace missing teeth?
If the bridge is not built, the patient’s neighboring teeth and the opposing tooth in the other jaw move towards the extraction cavity. Therefore, impaired tooth closure leads to caries and tooth loss.
When tooth loss occurs for any reason, the neighboring teeth start to move towards this gap. As a result, gingival problems in the adjacent teeth, bone loss due to tipping into this space, deterioration in aesthetics and changes in chewing forces occur. If this gap is not restored with an implant or bridge for a long time, these neighboring teeth may also be lost.

Other problems that arise as a result of tooth loss and lack of replacement prosthesis are digestive disorders and diseases caused by lack of chewing. Depending on the location of the missing tooth, we can count speech disorders and aesthetic problems.

How does prosthesis benefit the patient?
The prosthesis aims to restore the patient’s lost functions, at the same time correcting the impaired speech and improving the aesthetic appearance.

While the oral health lost with prosthesis applications is corrected, individuals who have to live with missing or ruined teeth in society are also supported psychologically.
This causes functional disorders as well as a decrease in self-confidence in people.

Over the years, teeth wear down at different rates as a result of people eating, chewing, swallowing and grinding their teeth at night for various reasons. In addition, some parts of the teeth are broken as a result of caries and accidents. In such cases, the lost structures of the teeth are replaced with prostheses called crowns or bridges.

Standard metal or precious metal alloys can be used as the framework for a fixed prosthesis.

Precious Metal Alloy Applications
In these prostheses, precious metal alloys containing gold are used as the precious substrate. Aesthetics in the superstructure is again provided by ceramic applications. These alloys are special mixtures for dentistry. . Gold is one of the most precious materials compatible with teeth and gums among the materials used in dentistry. Therefore, healthier results are obtained with applications using precious metal.

Zirconium is now also being used as a porcelain substructure.

Standard Metal Alloy Applications
In these prostheses, dentistry-specific metals that are compatible with tooth tissues, have the necessary durability and can maintain health are used as the infrastructure.
dental ceramics are used as the superstructure to provide an aesthetic appearance. Standard metal alloy fixed prostheses can be applied to all teeth. They give very successful results as classical methods.

How to care for crowns and bridges?
Cleaning your dentures is very important for their longevity. Especially all gingival edges of the support teeth of the denture should be brushed very well.

You should brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day. This cleaning process will remove plaque formed by bacteria. The most important point in this regard is to remove plaque in the area where your teeth and gums meet (sulcus). To avoid breaking or damaging the crowns, you should avoid chewing hard foods and objects. Again, as in all cases, you should routinely visit your dentist and have your teeth checked.
