Cavities create cavities in the teeth, increasing the risk of infection. Lack of regular brushing and improper diet leads to plaque build-up on the teeth, which can promote cyst formation.

Main Types of Tooth Cysts and Treatment Methods

1. Gingival Cyst (Periapical Cyst)
A gum cyst is a type of cyst that contains pus, fluid and air. It develops slowly and can be in the jawbone or the root of the tooth. Cysts usually do not cause pain and therefore go unnoticed by patients. If they go unnoticed for a long time, they can damage the jawbone and cause bone loss.

Causes: Tooth trauma, cavities or poor dental treatment.

Treatment: If detected early, tooth extraction may be sufficient. However, the cyst may need to be cleaned after tooth extraction. Tooth cyst root canal treatment is important for such cases.

2. Dentigerous Cyst
Dentigerous cysts usually do not cause symptoms, swelling or pain. These cysts occur around impacted teeth and grow slowly.

3. Periapical Cyst
Periapical or radicular cysts are inflammatory cysts associated with necrotic pulp and infected teeth. They are a consequence of chronic apical periodontitis. However, not all apical lesions indicate cyst formation.

4. Lateral Periodontal Cyst
Lateral periodontal cysts are a rare type of developmental odontogenic cyst. They are usually asymptomatic, but sometimes there may be swelling of the gingiva. They are usually observed in premolar and mandibular regions in adults.

5. Residual Cyst
Residual cysts form in infected areas that are not cleaned after tooth extraction. They need to be removed by surgery.

6. Rash Cyst
Rash cysts occur throughout the teeth and are quite common.

Other Cyst Types

Cysts are usually found on the inside of the lip, but can also occur on the tongue, the floor of the mouth, inside the cheeks or around a lip piercing. A cyst on the floor of the mouth is called a “ranula” and a cyst on the gum is called an “epulis”. A wisdom tooth cyst is a type of cyst that requires special attention. A mucous cyst can be seen in the mucous sac.

Treatment and Precautions

Cysts are usually not treated with medication and require surgical intervention by a dentist. Early detection and treatment can prevent cysts from damaging the jawbone and causing bigger problems. Determining and applying the right methods in the treatment of cysts is very important in terms of protecting dental health.

["post-5648","hizmet","type-hizmet","status-publish","hentry
["GET
